Group exhibition "refractive mediums"
Multi Purpose Building, Kyushu University Ohashi Campus
Exhibited in a group exhibition featuring works by students in the Faculty of Design. Focusing on the different ways photography and sound recording represent time, I created Listening to What Cannot Be Seen #1, a work that records the same place and duration through long-exposure photography and field recording, presenting the two media side by side. By extending photography—typically associated with capturing a fleeting instant—through long exposure to match the temporal span of the field recording, the work explores the asymmetry between the temporal representations of the two recording media.
