Live event "refractive mediums" (performer)

I performed at the opening event of the group exhibition refractive mediums. While the performance centered on singing with guitar, it incorporated the bodily movements and shutter sounds of the live photographer documenting it as compositional elements, placing performer and documenter on equal footing. I attempted to bring the act of "documentation," which tends to be pushed to the margins at ordinary live shows, onto the stage as part of an improvised performance.

Carrying a DSLR camera, the live photographer moved among the audience while photographing the performer. The sounds of their movement and of the shutter were also treated as part of the performance, with the aim of turning the entire exhibition space, including not only the performer but also the documenter and the audience, into a place where a single musical event could emerge.
